7/03/2007|Team Gray Completes DARPA Site Visit Nearly Flawlessly

5/18/2007|Team Gray Films Urban Challenge Entry Video, Continues Testing

The video portrays the car successfully making maneuvers critical for operation in an urban environment. DARPA subsequently determined that the work done by Team Gray merited a Site Visit to be conducted in late June. Performance at the Site Visit will help determine whether or not Team Gray progresses to this year's Urban Challenge, which will be held in early November. The team is confident that it will secure a place in the Urban Challenge

Team Gray continues testing the AVS™ system. The development team is working on all of the autonomous driving systems needed to compete in the Urban Challenge. This Ford Escape Hybrid is being used for prototyping and testing. The vehicle can successfully complete a programmed circuit with excellent accuracy.

7/2006|NASA Welcomes Team Gray for Telemetry Testing

Mutliple GPS antennas were mounted on top of the car in order to test their accuracy. This ability to mount multiple antennas and gather data made Kat-5 an effective testing platform, and allowed NASA and Team Gray to determine which systems were the most effective.

5/3/2006|New Grand Challenge Announced

DARPA announced their newest Grand Challenge today - the 2007 DARPA Urban Challenge. Autonomous vehicles will have to navigate through an urban environment while avoiding other cars and obeying traffic laws. For more information, please go to DARPA's web site.

A new publications page has been added to the web site. It includes many of the publications that have either featured Team Gray or the 2005 DARPA Grand Challenge.

12/6/2005|Team Gray Visits the Pentagon

Team Gray was invited by DARPA to the Pentagon to display Kat-5 to members of the Department of Defense.

After a briefing by Dr. Tether (the director of DARPA) to members of the Department of Defense, Team Gray showed off Kat-5 in the Pentagon courtyard.

The Secretary of the Army, the Under-Secretary of Defense, and many others showed interest in Team Gray and Kat-5 during the event.
